ABSTRACT

The enormous developmental changes that define primary teaching and learning necessitate a wide repertoire of age-sensitive teaching approaches, and one that will mesh effectively with later learning. This chapter will look at key issues in secondary-language learning that primary teachers need to be aware of, and then will go on to discuss different ways in which primary pupils can be involved in active MFL through content-based learning tasks using drama, games and a host of other activities that support wholecurriculum learning.
