Gaby sat directly in front of me, with her legs folded, her elbows resting on her thighs, and her knuckles supporting her chin as she gazed intently at me. I raised my body up from the elongated lunge that had brought my palms to the floor with a slap, and flung my arms open wide and my head upward. Gaby’s little body echoed the rhythmic rise and fall of the movement, and the expression on her face grew serious as her eyes filled with concern.
