ABSTRACT
What do students do with their laptops? What happens when each and every student in a class has a laptop all the time and the laptop is networked? We know that adults seem to have a picture in mind of how the laptops should be used. The ideal picture is that students use the laptops primarily, if not exclusively, for learning activities. This is clearly stated in the “Alpha Middle School Seven Rules for the Laptop Project”:
7. The primary purpose of the laptop is for education. Treat it as a valuable tool for learning.
