ABSTRACT
Schools now have a legal responsibility to identify, assess and make provision for children with disabilities. They also have a duty not to discriminate against such children in any way. All children have a right to a broad and well-balanced education. A disability can be defined as an inability to perform as well as other children of the same age in some area of school learning, which may be physical, cognitive or sensory.
