Monitoring and Assessment

In designing any assessment system, it is important to be clear about its purposes. A conflict of audience interests can impair the value of the assessment itself. The following provide a guide:

● to improve learning (by identifying both successes and misconceptions, and adjusting future teaching accordingly);

● to inform pupils of their progress;

● to inform parents of pupils’ progress;
