ABSTRACT

Although the previous chapters offer many examples of useful questions, activities and resources that can be used in the mathematics classroom, the real task is applying these ideas to children’s learning. There follow some brief case studies, each focusing on a particular area of special educational need, through which the techniques discussed in the previous chapters are exemplified. Each one follows the same format with three sections: ‘You will need to find out’, ‘You should consider’ and ‘Some strategies you/the TA could try’.
