ABSTRACT
THE MEANING OF 'GROWTH' Pupils' ideas about growth have been studied from different perspectives: human growth as experienced by the children themselves; the experience of macroscopic observations of other organisms; learning about cell division, and differentiation and the assimilation of organic chemicals.
