ABSTRACT

Tilting, also called inclining or 'taking a direction; means movement of a part of the body away from its normal position into another direction in space. The free end describes a portion of an arc, but in the standard description this curved path in space is not recorded. Instead direction symbols state the new destination for the free end of the part of the body concerned. This part moves as a unit from its base, or point of attachment, the point of reference from which directions and levels are judged.
