ABSTRACT

Julia O’Connell Davidson is Professor of Sociology at the University of Nottingham. She has

spent more than a decade researching sex commerce in the affluent and developing world,

and has written extensively on prostitution, child prostitution, sexual tourism, and ‘‘traffick-

ing.’’ Her most recent book is Children in the Global Sex Trade (2005, Cambridge: Polity), and

she is currently involved in research on migrant domestic and sex workers in Britain and

Spain.
