Mimi Schippers is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Women’s Studies at Tulane University.
Her research focuses on how gender and sexual inequalities are produced, sustained, and
challenged through face-to-face interaction and cultural practice. She is author of the book,
Rockin’ Out of Box:Gender Maneuvering in Alternative Hard Rock (Rutgers University Press, 2002).
