ABSTRACT
Sex work is defined as the exchange of consensual sexual services. A sex worker performs
sexual acts for clients in exchange for money. Consensual sexual services, however, are highly
varied; sexual practices are dependent upon the social context and the type of sex work
under consideration. Regarding sex industry studies, both feminist and general sociological
studies of genders and sexualities continue to generate much disagreement and debate.
