ABSTRACT
Lev N. Landa was a resident of the USSR until 1976. He received a doctoral degree in psychology from the Institute of General and Educational psychology, Moscow, a postdoctoral degree in educational psychology from the University of Leningrad, and a life-long title of Professor granted to him by the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR. From 1963 to 1976 he was Professor and Director of a department at the Institute of General and Educational Psychology in Moscow. Concurrently, beginning in 1972, he was a Professor at the Institute of Advanced Training of University and Pedagogical College Teachersat the USSR Academyof Pedagogical Sciences, Moscow. From 1976-1979 he was Visiting Professor at universities in Europe and the USA. Presently he is Director of The Institute for Advanced Algo-Heuristic Studies, New York, and President of the New York based
Landamatic Systems Corporation. More than one-third of his more than 100 published books and articles have been translated into 15 languages.
