ABSTRACT
Next class-reading skills. Bill previously assigned students the task of bringing in reading materials of their own choice. But despite Bill's increasingly sincere efforts, the students snipe at each other, ridiculing the choice ofan ''Archie'' comic book as one recruit reads aloud. The next student starts to decipher Sports Illustrated, but we know that he is bored and feeling cynical about the class. He stops and looks at Bill.
