ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the usage of mobile communication devices to support supplemental work. The ‘anytime, anywhere’ functionality of the devices makes them enormously convenient, and is thought to enhance people’s work productivity, while facilitating work-life balance. But their always-on nature can lead to conflict when family members or others outside the users’ work environment feel that work is spilling over into the users’ non-work life.
