ABSTRACT
The question of what term is appropriate to define this population has been discussed at length elsewhere (Pontón, 2001a; Pontón & Ardila, 1999; Pontón et al., 1996; Taussig & Pontón, 1996). For the purposes of this chapter, the terms Hispanic/Latino are used interchangeably.
