ABSTRACT

A great deal of research has examined the role of situation models in text comprehension and memory (see Zwaan & Radvansky, 1998, for a review). This research suggests that there is an isomorphism between representations of narrative and real word events (Magliano, Zwaan, & Graesser, 1999). For example, narrative events are causally linked within a narrative time and space, in much the way that we understand real world events.
