ABSTRACT
We have established the clinical and social psychological foundations that can help us understand the prevalence and dynamics of gender-based violence. We have consistently argued that sex-based inequities in power, supported by consequential stereotypical attitudinal and behavioral expectations of men and women, combine to create vulnerabilities in both men and women for victimizing and victimization, respectively.
