ABSTRACT
In recent years, there has emerged a voluminous research literature, taken from many different fields, that addresses the importance of industrial agglomeration and clusters. These concepts have also received considerable attention in China, and this chapter provides an account of the cluster concept and its uses by Chinese scholars and policymakers.
