ABSTRACT
Currently several advanced methods such as genetic engineering, nanotechnology, immobilized cells or enzymes, biofilms and microbial fuel cells, etc. are explored for the effective decolorization and degradation of textile dyes as well as eco-toxic effluent. These biological approaches are very effective and offer several advantages over conventional methods for decolorization and degradation of dyes present in textile effluent.
