ABSTRACT

Contractual security guard companies will possess their own liability and worker’s compensation insurance, and the business to which they are contracted should request and maintain an up-to-date copy of such insurance coverage. A business that contracts for the services of a security guard company should also obtain insurance coverage for any liable actions caused by that guard company, particularly if the actions can be vicariously proved. In addition, be aware that any workman given permission to construct, renovate, or repair on premises should provide necessary proof of liability and worker’s compensation coverage.
