Quality Risk in Global Supply Networks

Supply chain quality risk is an ambiguous concept. There is no unified defi­ nition of supply chain risk (Tang and Musa 2011), and it lacks “an overarching typology to delineate exactly what constitutes supply chain risk” (Rao and Goldsby 2009). This has resulted in disparate studies and fragmented literature, which hin­ ders managing supply chain risk using a systematic and structured approach (Khan and Burnes 2007; Rao and Goldsby 2009; Ellis et al. 2011).
