The bane of substance abuse and the toll it takes in the form of crime, lost productivity, and human suffering affects every business and therefore is of great concern to the security professional. The type of substances used, their effects, users’ appearance, and the means utilized in investigating the criminal activity and loss attendant to their use in the workplace is essential information for any security professional.
