ABSTRACT

Probably the most demanding of all of the duties the security professional is called on to accomplish is developing and directing the response of the company to emergency situations. These emergencies can be manmade, such as product tampering, arson, terrorist activities, robberies, large thefts, etc. Others are natural in origin, such as storm damage due to hurricanes, lightning strikes, tsunamis, earthquakes, etc. Some can be management-based or labor-based problems, as in the case of a labor dispute. Still others revolve around criminal activity and industrial espionage. Whatever the case may be, you are expected to foresee such occurrences, develop viable plans to respond to them, train the required personnel, and have the various outside resources available to quickly address these needs.
