ABSTRACT
Because child homicide has always occurred, social scientists and other professionals mystified by such unnatural behavior have long searched for a variety of answers. They have perceived nature as a benign force and life among other species as utopian. The search has been in varied, sometimes overlapping, fields, including sociobiology, cultural anthropology, and history.
