ABSTRACT

That is when Schultz talked with Callihan about implementing an immunization program, following up on a Washington State Pharmacist Association’s (WSPA) educational training program she had taken. He responded enthusiastically. So Schultz brought in Hofer and trained two other pharmacists. In 1996 they gave 200 flu shots. By 1997, 15 other pharmacists were trained. “Customers were delighted. No one asked why pharmacists were administering immunizations, they trusted us,” she reflects.
