ABSTRACT

Algebra is a useful branch of mathematics. It is mainly concerned with the generalization of arithmetic and deals not only with numbers but also with letters that may represent a large variety of numbers. Algebraic functions can range from simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to complex ones that involve a combination of the aforementioned functions. In an algebraic equation, the unknown letters can be solved and checked by replacing them with numerical values. This makes it possible to balance the equations and solve all those problems that are expressed in algebraic terms (Pine, 1992).
