ABSTRACT
Lean manufacturing and other Lean processes need quite different performance measurements. Lean cells need to focus on customer takt time, flow rate, the effectiveness of standardized work, and the stability of the pull system and single-piece flow. Traditional measurements focus on efficiency, machine utilization, overhead absorption, etc. The measurements are different because we need to provide motivation toward different goals.
