ABSTRACT
In the previous two chapters, which address human sexuality and sexual deviance, as well as the investigative significance fantasy in sex-related incidents, the author presented both clinical and investigative perspectives to assist the detective in the analysis of such events. The author discussed the significance of fantasy in the analysis of these events and how this fantasy component, coupled with the presence of certain paraphilias, provides the signature of an offender, which enables detectives to link an offender to a particular series of crimes committed by that offender. Many times, the presence of paraphiliac activities is a clear indication of future sexual assault or perversion.
