ABSTRACT
Introduction Recent disasters, starting with Hurricane Katrina, have brought the unique needs of children in disasters to the attention of emergency planners, medical o›cials, social service agencies, and voluntary groups involved in disaster response and recovery. Ÿe lessons learned and the knowledge gained from these recent events should inform the work to be done by emergency managers to better prepare for and respond to the needs of children in future disasters.
