ABSTRACT
Ultraviolet wavelengths are shorter than visible lightwaves which, in turn, are shorter than infrared. Sensing devices that operate in the optical frequencies are called photodetectors and some broadband devices that detect radiation in the visible spectrum also detect infrared and ultraviolet frequencies. Advanced multispectral imaging systems often sense a wide portion of the optical spectrum, including UV frequencies.
