ABSTRACT

With proper preparation and use of the Internet, it is now possible to roll out products, not just in the most lucrative domestic regions, but also simultaneously across many foreign markets. As cyber-based trade is expected to hit somewhere between $6 and $8 trillion by 2004, depending upon which forecaster is used, businesses are hard at work trying to extend supply chains in an increasingly complex environment. It is now feasible to be a buyer, supplier, seller, or manufacturer in a B2B2C network anywhere around the globe. These aspects offer further opportunities to profit by extending reach to the supply chain.
