ABSTRACT

Quinn is speaking to both the supply chain professional and the general business manager when he advocates getting on the supply chain technology train and riding it with your best trading partners to the next level of process improvement. To his advocacy, we add an important caveat — without the participation of trusted partners, it will not happen. At best, technology is the key enabler of advanced supply chain efforts and collaboration sends advocates in search of the best applications across an extended enterprise effort. These ingredients are the new and most powerful tools available for business process improvement. Together they offer great promise for the future. But without partners who trust each other and share what is necessary to apply the tools, it is a fruitless endeavor.
