Learning faster than competitors is a company’s only sustainable competitive advantage. Organizations that continually reflect upon themselves grow, mature and stay competitive; those that don’t disappear. The successful implementation of an ERP system requires an understanding of the organization into which the ERP system is being implemented. As Figure 4.1 illustrates, analysis is the first step in a successful LRP implementation. A failure to properly understand the subtle interactions between and among departments causes delays, inadequate ROI, and, potentially, implementation failure.
