ABSTRACT

M anagers do more than simply manage. They are intensely involved inthe process of directing resources and organizing activities in achieve-ment of corporate or organizational objectives. Ultimately, what this means is that managers are problem-solvers and decision-makers. They must be able to bring order to chaotic situations. Furthermore, they must be able to examine the situations facing them and distinguish between the symptoms and the underlying root causes. They must avoid the tendency of attacking symptoms and instead focus their attention on the problems.
