ABSTRACT

Forensic art is not a new phenomenon. It has been used for decades as a tool by law enforcement professionals. From the case of “Jack the Ripper” to the Oklahoma City bombing, forensic art has documented crime-related information and boosted the quest for justice. Composite sketches from eyewitness descriptions, for the purpose of identification and apprehension of a particular suspect, comprise some of the earliest and best-known examples of police art.
