ABSTRACT

Our faces do many things. They provide our sense of identity. They reflect our age. They indicate our sexuality and provide our emotional display system. Simply put, they represent who we are and act as our tools for recognizing others. The pattern of facial features of each human face is truly individual. With criminals, the face can be the key to identification and apprehension. With victims, the face can be the triggering factor that leads to recovery or identification. Historically, man has sought to gain greater understanding of himself and others through study of the face and head.
