ABSTRACT
The brief survey of data given in this chapter deals with the health effects in a population living near a nuclear weapons facility and exposed to long-term irradiation. The activities of the “Mayak” industrial complex began in 1948. This facility is located 1848 km west of Moscow, about 100 km northwest of Chelyabinsk, and 220 km southeast of Yekaterinburg.
