ABSTRACT

In recent years, a profusion of television programs devoted to the various fields of forensic science and the widespread reporting of a number of criminal trials have increased both public awareness of and interest in this area of criminal investigation. Technologies such as DNA analysis have captured our attention both for the uniqueness involved and the certainty with which an individual may be identified. A newcomer to the “scene” might even ask what did we do prior to the arrival of DNA. The answer is forensic serology.
