ABSTRACT
The 1999 Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) report makes no mention of steroidrelated deaths (Kissin and Ball, 2000). Steroid abuse is not tracked as a separate category in the mid-year 1999 preliminary DAWN report on emergency room visits (Ball et al., 2000), and the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse does not include anabolic steroids in the list of drugs surveyed (Greene et al., 2000).
