ABSTRACT
From its beginning, pharmacy formed groups that share common interests and concerns. At •rst these groups (mostly in Europe) were called guilds. Guilds eventually became associations. Now, these groups are called professional organizations. Pharmacy organizations are important to current and future practitioners as they help de•ne, defend, and promote the profession.
