ABSTRACT

One of the most important components of a cold case investigation is searching for people-including suspects, fugitives, and witnesses-as well as those persons’ relatives and associates. No matter how organized the case —le, usually some amount of work needs to be completed on the front end. And, as indicated in the preceding chapters, a change in a relationship (such as a jilted girlfriend) may provide the investigator with much new information. Finding these people, however, can be a daunting task. šey move, get married, get divorced, marry again, a lot of women change their names, and some of the subjects of one’s searches may already be deceased.
