ABSTRACT

Thus far, we’ve explored how to lay the solid foundation to develop an aligned organization and a committed, engaged workforce. By the time you have moved from Forming through Focusing, you should begin to see the first fruits of your labors. If you’ve navigated your journey well, there is a high degree of alignment, growing commitment to the mission, the organization, and the team. The groups have moved through uninformed optimism, informed pessimism, and now hope is on the rise. This is fertile soil from which to reap the bounty you envisioned when you began your organizational voyage; this is the stage of Sustained Performance. Table 5.1 outlines the indicators and team needs observable within organizations that have successfully navigated to achieve Sustained Performance.
