ABSTRACT

Lying and the use of denials is a daily occurrence in many individuals’ lives. Many people find that it is easier to lie than to tell the truth. Lies and denials vary in their seriousness from the “white lie” to the very serious. Denials are usually the guilty person’s attempt to protect his deception from being uncovered by another. Although there are other forms of denial, this text concentrates on those used to protect a deception.
