ABSTRACT

Following the events of 9/11, the FAA became part of Homeland Security and the name was changed to the Transportation Security Administration or the TSA.

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration issued long-awaited proposals November 10, 2006 to strengthen air cargo security that includes tighter rules for freight forwarders, airports, aircraft operators, and foreign air earners designed to prevent terrorists from using planes as weapons against targets on the ground or from carrying explosives on a plane.
