I. Denition of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) A. e Family Violence Fund (2004) denes IPV as “a pattern of

assaultive and coercive behaviors that may include physical injury, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, progressive isolation, stalking, deprivation and threats. ese behaviors may be precipitated by someone who is, who was, or wishes to be in an intimate or dating relationship with an adult or adolescent, and are aimed at establishing control by one partner over the other.” (Family Violence Fund, 2004, p. 2; Family Violence Council, 2006, p. 1)

B. IPV has no boundaries regarding gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, religion, or socioeconomic status.
