ABSTRACT
Th is chapter presents four materials-handling examples. Th e fi rst is the use of a transporter to transfer piles of loads from a collection area to a repair facility. Th e second example is similar to the fi rst except that the transporter is replaced by an overhead crane. Th e third and fourth examples model carrousel and belt conveyors in a manufacturing setup and a log mill operation, respectively.
