ABSTRACT

Introduction Morale stands high as one of the most influential forms of behavioral expression. It affects day-to-day employee performance and contributes ultimately to how well a business plan is implemented. It is one of the human dimension’s most important and compelling prerequisites to successful functioning. The level of morale is a gauge of how people feel about themselves, their degree of participation in a team effort, and the confidence they show in their leaders. High morale results from

effective leadership, mutual interest in solving problems, and widespread respect for peers and managers. Morale forms an emotional bond that springs from common values, such as loyalty to fellow workers and a belief that the organization will care for them. Where morale is at a high level, it results in a cohesive team effort that enthusiastically strives to achieve common goals. Successful leaders know that morale-this vibrant and essential human force-holds a team together and keeps it going in the face of the inevitable problems and reversals.
