Introduction This chapter focuses on ideas for understanding and generating the recovery process . First, we will start with two examples that illustrate the various
issues associated with recovery . Next, we will move to theories that help us to explain and understand how communities may have ended up facing significant reconstruction . In short, theory will help us understand how a community arrived in its present situation .
