ABSTRACT

During the last century, the Argentine Republic suffered many changes in its political map, changing from democratic governments to dictatorial ones from 1930 to 1983. ese kinds of changes have affected the peoples’ human rights and the scope of police activities. ere have also been significant changes that the Argentinean Police Department has suffered since 1983. In that year, the last dictatorial government switched to a democratic one. As a result, there have been limits on the functions that the police officials in Argentina may now carry out without committing violations to citizen and human rights.
