ABSTRACT

Bob’s cell phone rang. He looked at the number and began to panic. He did not want to answer but knew he must. He muttered to himself, “It’s her…again.” He picked up the phone, “Bob, I love you, why can’t you understand it? We had an amazing night together.” Bob sighed heavily and said, “Marilyn, it was only one night. How can you say that you love me?” Marilyn screamed into the phone, “What do you mean it was only one night? I don’t just sleep with anyone. Do you think I’m a whore? You can’t ignore what we have between us. What we have is special. I need to talk with you in person. Meet me tonight.” Bob hesitantly said, “I can’t tonight.” Marilyn threatened, “If you don’t meet me tonight, I’ll tell your girlfriend,” and hung up. Then she immediately called back, apologizing, “This is upsetting me so much. I don’t mean to hurt you. Please, you’ve got to meet with me, I need to talk with you in person.” Bob said, “Look, Marilyn, I have to get back to work. I’ll have to call you back.”
